PRESSED FLOWERS ON GLASS

2.4"x2.4" and 3.15"x3.15" turned out to be the perfect vessel. The transparent glass lets you see the flower from both sides, bringing a focused, intimate view of each pressed bloom. Group several pieces together and something new emerges. Every flower is catalogued with its collection location and date, forming part of my personal herbarium — a scientific term for a documented collection of dried and labeled plants, used in botany for research and record-keeping. The flowers come from the Jerusalem hills. The ones classified as protected species were grown in my private wildflower garden, from seeds and plants I sowed and planted myself.
